Remodeling a Historic Property into Modern Housing

On Providence’s historic College Hill, we redeveloped a three-unit property into contemporary rental housing through a full-scale gut renovation. The goal was to preserve the building’s historic presence within one of the city’s most architecturally significant neighborhoods while introducing modern interiors designed for today’s renters.

While the exterior character of the property was maintained, the interiors were completely reimagined with open layouts, sleek finishes, and a clean contemporary aesthetic. The contrast between the traditional architecture and modern living spaces creates a refined balance between historic character and modern functionality.

Behind the walls, the building received all-new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and utility systems to improve performance, efficiency, and long-term durability. From planning and construction through final delivery, our team managed every phase of the redevelopment to create three updated residences that blend preservation, modern design, and long-term value in one of Providence’s most iconic neighborhoods.
